Name: Inuyasha
Gender: Male
Age: Debatable. In youkai years, he's fifteen. But in reality, counting the years he was pinned to the Goshinboku, he's about 350 years old.
Species: Hanyou, or half-demon. His father was a powerful inu youkai, and his mother was a human princess.
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 130 lbs
Hair: Silver as a hanyou, black as a human.
Eyes: Golden as a hanyou, red with blue pupils as a youkai, and gray as a human.
Weapon: Tetsusaiga, a youkai sword made out of his father's fang. It was left in the border between the worlds, with the only path being a magic black pearl inside Inuyasha's right eye. At first, Tetsusaiga appears to be a rusty old katana, but for those able to wield it, it turns into a giant sword. Tetsusaiga's sheath also has the property to keep Inuyasha's youkai blood in check.
Attacks:
Sankon Tessou- Using his claws, Inuyasha sends blades of air flying towards the enemy.
Hijin Kessou- Inuyasha dips his claws into his own blood, and sends blades of blood at the enemy.
Kaze no Kizu- Tetsusaiga's first attack. Inuyasha smells where his and his enemy's youki meets, and slices through it, sending a blast of youki at his enemy.
Bakuryuuha- When the enemy sends a poweful youki attack Inuyasha's way, Inuyasha can use the Bakuryuuha to send it right back at them.
Akai Tetsusaiga- Tetsusaiga turns red, and is able to break barriers.
Kongosouha- Tetsusaiga's blade becomes a diamond, and Inuyasha is able to shoot out diamond spears at the enemy.
History: Inuyasha's father, the Inu no Taishou, fell in love with the human princess Izayoi, and Izayoi became pregnant. Just before Izayoi was about to give birth, Inu no Taishou fought a battle with Ryuukotsusei and became gravely injured. Still, he came to Izayoi's side, fighting his way through the castle to get to her. Izayoi had given birth to Inuyasha, and Inu no Taishou gave them his Robe of the Fire Rat to protect them before sending them away. He died fighting a samurai of the castle who was in love with Izayoi.
Izayoi went from castle to castle, trying to raise a hanyou baby as best she could. Being a princess, she had no real survival skills, but in her own way she protected Inuyasha and she loved him very much. She became sick, and died when Inuyasha was still a small child.
After that, Inuyasha was on his own. He learned very early on that the world despised hanyous, and endured abuse from both youkai and humans. He scavenged for food, stuck up for himself, and trusted no one. Somewhere along the line, he realized that no one would respect him unless he was powerful, so he decided to become a full youkai by any means possible.
About three hundred years after his mother's death, on the night of the new moon, Inuyasha met a miko named Kikyo. She had just killed a youkai, and she was exhausted and unsteady on her feet, but she knew he was there and called out to him. Because it was his human night, he stayed hidden in the shadows. She asked if he had come to steal the Shikon no Tama, and when he told her he didn't know what it was, she said it was good that he didn't, and that if he valued his life he should stay away. As she was walking away, she collapsed. Soon after, the villagers found Kikyo, but she wondered why the youkai she had met hadn't killed her.
Soon, though, Inuyasha found out about the Shikon no Tama and came after Kikyo, determined to steal it and become a full youkai. Kikyo recognized him as the youkai she had met before, realized he was a hanyou, and instead of killing him, she merely pinned him to a tree and walked away.
It went on like that for a long time, with Inuyasha trying to steal the jewel, and Kikyo stopping him every time. Eventually their relationship became one of begrudging respect, and even affection. Kikyo saw a kindred spirit in Inuyasha, someone who understood her pain. Inuyasha had finally found someone who accepted him for who he was. Sometimes when Kikyo was called away to kill a youkai, she asked Inuyasha to come along and help out.
During this time, Kikyo found a badly burned man that had fallen into the valley, and she brought him to a small cave to take care of him in secret. His name was Onigumo, and he was a bandit that had killed many innocent people. Although he was a bad person, Kikyo took pity on him because she knew that in his condition, he would never be able to leave the cave, or even make the slightest of movements on his own. Onigumo began to have a perverse obsession for Kikyo. He saw her as the pure miko she was, and wished badly to posess her and taint her, to force her to his level. Onigumo's evil heart was like a magnet for youkai, and they gathered to him in the cave and gave the man a propositon: They would create a new body for him to do as he pleased, and in return he would give them his soul. In this way, the hanyou Naraku was born, and he immediately attacked the village, trying to steal the Shikon no Tama. But Kikyo and Inuyasha drove back his youkai hordes, and that was the moment that Kikyo realized her powers were waning. As she shot an arrow at a youkai set to attack her younger sister, she lost control of it and the backlash hit little Kaede in the eye, rendering it completely useless for the rest of her life.
Kikyo finally realized what it meant to be in love, and she knew that in order to protect the ones she loved, she had to make a choice. So she came up with a plan. If Inuyasha truly desired to be with her, he could use the Shikon no Tama to become human, and his pure wish would purify the jewel, leaving Kikyo free to love Inuyasha as a normal woman. If Inuyasha was human, he would finally have a species that would accept him for who he was, and he would have somewhere to belong. Inuyasha loved Kikyo more than anything, and agreed to her plan. The next afternoon, they would meet by the Goshinboku tree, and Kikyo would give Inuyasha the Shikon no Tama. However, neither of them were counting on Naraku.
Naraku overheard their plan and was furious. That night, as Kikyo prayed in the village shrine, he came to her disguised as Inuyasha and begged her for the jewel, saying that he couldn't wait until the next day. Kikyo saw nothing amiss, and said that she would meet him at dawn instead.
That morning, Kikyo said goodbye to her sister and took the Shikon no Tama to the Goshinboku. But Inuyasha wasn't there. The real Inuyasha still believed that they would be meeting that afternoon. Confused, Kikyo thought she must be early, and as she walked through the field, she was cut down by Naraku in Inuyasha's form. He laughed at her, told her he had never intended to become a weak human, and stole the Shikon no Tama, saying he would go massacre the villagers so the jewel would absorb more blood.
Leaving Kikyo injured in the field, Naraku put the Shikon no Tama back in the shrine, and then took the form of Kikyo and met Inuyasha at the Goshinboku. As Inuyasha waited, an arrow was fired at him. He turned and saw what he thought was Kikyo, determined to kill him. She told him she would never give the Shikon no Tama to a hanyou. Angry and hurt, Inuyasha closed off his heart and ran to the village to steal the jewel and become a full youkai once and for all.
As Inuyasha bounded through the trees, Shikon no Tama in hand, the real Kikyo fired a single shot at him, and pinned him to the Goshinboku. However, she purposely used Fuuin no Ya, the Arrow of Sealing, instead of her purifying arrow. Even after everything that had happened, Kikyo still loved him and couldn't bring herself to kill him. By sealing Inuyasha to the magical Goshinboku, she made sure his body would never decompose, essentially putting him to sleep for all eternity. Inuyasha's last thoughts before he was rendered unconscious was that he didn't mind dying if it was by Kikyo's hand, and he was sealed with a smile on his face.
Kikyo's injury was fatal, and with her last breath she begged Kaede to burn the Shikon no Tama with her body, so those that would abuse it would never be able to get to it. For what happened after that, check out Kagome's profile.
Relationship:
Inu no Taishou- father, deceased. Inuyasha never met him, and doesn't really care all that much about him. He gets annoyed when people talk about how he should respect him and refers to his father as 'Oyaji', which is essentially the Japanese version of the phrase, "old man", or "Pops".
Izayoi-hime- mother, deceased. Inuyasha loved his mother very much, and dislikes talking about her.
Sesshomaru- Half brother, full inu youkai. The affection in this relationship is sorely lacking. Sesshomaru is insulted that Inuyasha even exists, and is set on killing him and taking the Tetsusaiga for himself. Lately though, it seems that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha have come to a mutual understanding...
Kikyo- This version of Kikyo is almost nothing like the woman Inuyasha fell in love with, but Inuyasha still feels guilt for what happened and he does still love her.
Kagome- Inuyasha does love Kagome, but he's not the greatest at expressing it. The two of them argue constantly over the pettiest things, but they have an innate understanding of each other, and make an excellent fighting team. Inuyasha would do anything for Kagome, and he's very protective of her. He still has yet to admit that he loves her, but everyone seems to know this already, with the exception of Kagome herself.
Miroku- Inuyasha finds Miroku's lecherous ways to be amusing for the most part. He and Miroku are very good friends, and Inuyasha knows he can always count on Miroku to give it his all.
Sango- Inuyasha respects Sango's fighting abilities, and sees her as something of a sister. From the very beginning, he was angry at what Naraku did to her, and he's very sensitive to Sango's feelings when it comes to her brother, but when it comes to Miroku, Inuyasha doesn't understand Sango at all.
Shippou- Although Inuyasha and Shippou argue a lot, Inuyasha really does care about him, and respects Shippou's pride. Maybe Inuyasha sees a little bit of himself in Shippou.
Myouga- Myouga's a coward, and Inuyasha hates cowards. However, when they needed Myouga most, he was there to help, so Inuyasha does have a begrudging affection for the flea.
Kaede- Inuyasha calls Kaede 'baabaa', or 'old hag', and he's very disrespectful more often than not, but he does think of Kaede as an almost motherly figure and worries about her when she's in trouble. He also takes Kaede's advice very seriously.
Kilala- Kilala and Inuyasha have a special relationship. When Inuyasha thinks no one is looking, he'll talk to Kilala and pet her, and he often tells Kilala things that he tells nobody else.
Kouga- Inuyasha DESPISES Kouga. At first it's because of Kouga's love for Kagome, but now it's more because the two of them are very much alike. When they have to, they fight on the same side, and they often work together to keep Kagome safe. Inuyasha has a begrudging respect for Kouga because he knows the wolf prince can fight and has Kagome's best interests at heart.
Ayame- Inuyasha doesn't really care about Ayame one way or the other. He knows who she is, and he treats her with kindness because he sees how hurt she is over Kouga, but because Ayame and Inuyasha have spent almost no time together, they aren't really friends.
Ginta- Inuyasha hardly notices Ginta even exists, but when he does notice, he likes Ginta much better than Kouga.
Hakkaku-Inuyasha hardly notices Hakkaku even exists, but when he does notice, he likes Hakkaku much better than Kouga.
Jaken-Jaken is simply put, a nuisance. Inuyasha couldn't care less about him.
Rin- Rin is a source of bemusement for Inuyasha. He doesn't quite understand why his brother is allowing a human girl to follow him, and he's not sure why Rin would even want to follow Sesshomaru in the first place. But he likes Rin well enough.
Hachi- Inuyasha feels about Hachi the same way he does for Myouga. Kind of annoying, but can be useful on occasion.
Kohaku- Because Kohaku is Sango's younger brother, Inuyasha is very careful not to hurt Kohaku. He understands that Kohaku is being controlled by Naraku, and what the boy does isn't his fault. Kohaku is just one more reason why Inuyasha hates Naraku.
Naraku- Inuyasha hates Naraku more than any other living being. It was Naraku that killed Kikyo and made Inuyasha and Kikyo fight each other. It was Naraku that gave Miroku the kazaana. It was Naraku that slaughtered Sango's village and forced Kohaku to kill his family and friends, and even turn his weapon on his own sister. Inuyasha won't rest until Naraku is dead.
Kagura- Inuyasha dislikes Kagura, but he doesn't hate her. Although Kagura has fought against Inuyasha many times, it's obvious that it's not something she wants to do. When Kagura found out about Inuyasha's human night, she never told Naraku, and sometimes she even helps Inuyasha.
Kanna- Kanna is loyal to Naraku, so in Inuyasha's eyes she's an enemy that has to be destroyed.
Totosai- Totosai pisses Inuyasha off, but Inuyasha needs him to fix Tetsusaiga whenever it gets broken.
Hakudoshi- Hakudoshi is almost as bad as Naraku, so of course Inuyasha hates him.
Mama- Inuyasha really likes Kagome's mom. She's kind, loving, and accepting, and Inuyasha sees her as very much like his own mother.
Jii-chan- Kagome's grandfather often tries to purify Inuyasha with sutras and ofuda that never work. Inuyasha sees Jii-chan as a necessary evil, but occasionally he'll help Jii-chan out around the shrine.
Souta- Inuyasha is Souta's idol, and he does everything he can to make the kid think he's the coolest. He often shows off around him, and he helps the boy out when he can. Inuyasha is very much a part of Kagome's family, and he sees Souta as his own little brother.
Bankotsu- Although Inuyasha and Bankotsu fought on opposing sides, Inuyasha almost pities Bankotsu. He knows what it's like to want to be stronger in order to survive, and he thinks that Bankotsu isn't evil, just a little bit power-crazy.
Jakotsu- Jakotsu creeps Inuyasha out. Whenever Jakotsu is around, Inuyasha runs far, far away.
Renkotsu- Renkotsu almost succeeded in killing Inuyasha's friends, so Inuyasha despises him. Perhaps he's more angry with himself for allowing himself to be tricked so easily?
Suikotsu- Inuyasha isn't sure what to think. He respects one side of Suikotsu, but hates the other.
Ginkotsu- Ginkotsu hardly has a personality for Inuyasha to like or dislike, but because Ginkotsu is a member of the Shichinin-tai, he's an enemy.
Mukotsu- Creepy, disgusting, pathetic enemy. He tried to marry Kagome, and he poisoned Inuyasha's friends. That's unforgivable.
Kyoukotsu- Big and brainless. Kouga killed Kyoukotsu, so Inuyasha doesn't really know him.
